Star Wars is Coming to Elk Grove High School!



In preparation for the New Star Wars movie that opens nationwide on December 18, the EGFC will be presenting a Star Wars Film Festival and Raffle on December 13, 2015. 
  • Screening of Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi
  • Original theatrical presentations (Yes, Han shoots first!)
  • Vintage movie trailers before each screening from the years of each film's release!
  • Various Star Wars collectibles will be raffled all day long! Scroll down to see the items!
  • Food and drinks will be sold!
The festivities start at 1 pm on Sunday, December 13th at Elk Grove High School.

RAFFLE ITEMS: This is a general raffle. Tickets will be selected randomly in the order of the raffle. The more tickets you have, the more chances you have of winning the items.

This set has the Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi Special Edition movies. It also has a bonus disc with behind the scenes features. Widescreen edition. 2004.

Guest Speaker Jordan Graves on Thursday December 3

At last year's CinéStudent Film Festival, District 214 graduate Jordan Graves was honored in our "Alumni Spotlight."  On Thursday, December 3, Jordan will be here at Elk grove High School to discuss film-making, studying film in college. He will also demonstrate a new Canon camera that he recently purchased.  All are welcome!

Coming Soon: The Star Wars Film Festival and Raffle!

On December 18, 2015, Star Wars: The Force Awakens premieres in theaters all over the country. To get ready for this event, the EG Film Club will be presenting all three films of the original trilogy!

Mark your calendars for Sunday, December 13. The fun begins at 1 pm.

The EGFC Halloween Fright Fest 2015! Friday, October 30

This Friday, October 30th is the 1st annual EGFC Halloween Fright Fest.  We will be screen several short horror films and then feature a screening of the feature film, Drag Me to Hell directed by Sam Raimi, the director of the Evil Dead trilogy.



The screening is only $3---but, receive $1 off admission if you wear a Halloween costume!

Psycho is Coming to Elk Grove Cinema

As part of the on-going Critics Classic Series at Elk Grove Theatre, the classic Alfred Hitchcock film, Psycho will be shown.  The film will be presented by critic David Fowlie and will include a question and answer period after the film.

The cost is only $5. Here's your chance to view Psycho on the big screen.  The screening begins at 7 pm on Tuesday, October 13th.  Be there!

Welcome to the 2015-16 School Year!

I new year is beginning here at Elk Grove High School. So that means a new year of movies, trivia, screenings and, of course, the 2nd annual CinéStudent Film Festival.

Our first meeting will be on Wednesday, September 9 at 3:30 in Room 252. We will talk a little about some of the plans for this year and then play the "Movie Trivia Challenge" for prizes! Pop and popcorn will be served.  See you there!

On Location for the Short Film "1967"

Today, several students braved the 27o weather and snow to film an important scene for the apocalyptic thriller, 1967.  The film was written by Ben Jaeger and Nic Baggetto and will premiere at the CinéStudent Film Festival in May.  Click through the pictures in the album below to see scenes from the shoot.
